Rationale: Speaking From Experience

ONE
Brief:

Personalising your accomodation, where to keep certain items
Who needs to Know:
Prospective students for the first year of this graphic design course
What do they need to know:
What items you will need to survive on this course, in this city, and where to keep these things in your new accomodation, making life so much easier
Why do they need to know:
To help them perform at the best level possible and in turn do as well as they can on the course, whilst also making the most of the minimal room available in accomodation
What will they respond to:
A selection of photographs that have been edited to make simpler of a wealth of different student rooms, with informative arrows pointing to the so-called 'essential items', highlighting their use
What research is required:
First hand photography of a selection of students rooms, ask them what they couldn't live without, use the internet and books to determine 'what is needed to be a good graphic designer'

TWO
Brief:
The art of small talk
Who needs to know:
Prospective students for the first year of this graphic design course
What do they need to know:
How to start a conversation about something inatimate to a person you don't really know that well
Why do they need to know:
It helps communication skills and will help the student to make friends, by discussing an appropriate topic using the right type of language. Won't scare prospective friends off
What will they respond to:
A type of cheat sheet/booklet with key points, simple and concise with the aid of images and infographics
What research is required:
Asking students on the course what they have found themselves talking about the most, what topics would scare them off, what they don't like to discuss. Use the internet to find the ethics of conversation and what happens when you meet new people
