Enterprise Task Five

One
Brand - I want to brand myself in a distinctive and instantly recognisable way. This could be as simple as a logo of my name, a slogan or even an illustration of myself. I would like for it to be light hearted and humourous, therefore approachable and hopefully enticing to possible clients/employers.

Two
Promotion - I need to get my name out there, spread the word that I'm worth taking a chance on. This will most probably be done with a mail-shot or print portfolio. Perhaps even a business card, whatever I choose to create and distribute I want it to be unique and memorable.

Three
Portfolio - A place where people can go to look at my work in greater detail. Will contain images of all the work I am proud and a brief description as to how I got to my final ideas. Will need to be efficiently laid out and easy to navigate for optimum viewing.

Four
Film and TV - My main area of interest for design so I will need to stay on top of current trends and artists who specialise in this field also. Perhaps make contact and ask questions like 'how did you get into this area?' and 'do you find it rewarding?'

Five
Voice - I need to find my voice. Not my design voice, my actual speaking voice. I need to develop my face to face communication skills and ensure that they don't let me down when I need them most. This is all down to confidence, another aspect of my personality that could do with some development.

Six
Competition - I need to keep an eye on possible competitors and make sure that I remain at the same standard. If they begin to develop I can not fall behind or else I can consider myself well and truly out of the race. It's important I stay on top form.

Seven
Collaboration - Start to look at people as not just competition but as possible collaborators. Two heads are better than one, and with an ever changing industry it's vital that you stay aware. Important to not just consider other people's style but their work ethics as well. For example someone may produce incredible designs but they could be incredibly lazy and complete all work the night before it's due. That's not something I want to get involved with.

Eight
Skills - I consider myself well versed on Photoshop and Illustrator, but it is important that I don't become complacent. New software is always being developed, I need to make sure I keep up. Experimentation is key to learning, trial and error if I get stuck with a particular process.

Nine
Originality - I know in this day and age they say nothing is new and it's all been done before. However I want to proud of the work I create and the only way I'm going to do that is by knowing for sure that I came up with it myself and didn't copy the idea from someone else.

Ten
Confidence - Pretty self explanatory. But Essential. I'm never going to make it if I don't begin to believe in myself.
